Houseplants are a really effective way to purify the air, as they are known to decrease toxins. It is recommended to have two house plants for every 100 square feet of space in your home. Check out some of our favorite air-purifying plants!

Peace Lily

Sun Exposure: Medium to low light.
Water Needs: Water when soil is dry 1-2 times a week.
Fun Fact: Many assume that the white spathes are the flowers, but the flowers are tiny and are found on the pointed spadix.

Rubber Plant

Sun Exposure: Prefers bright, indirect light.
Water Needs: Water when soil is dry 1-2 times a week.
Fun Fact: In many cases, houseplants can cause allergies. The Rubber plant does not
produce pollen so, it has no allergic properties.

Dieffenbachia

Sun Exposure: Prefers filtered light.
Water Needs: Water lightly, only when soil is dry.
Fun Fact: There are approximately 30 varieties of Dieffenbachia, which originated from tropical Middle and South America.

Assorted Ivy

Sun Exposure: Bright to medium light.
Water Needs: Water lightly, when soil is dry.
Fun Fact: English Ivy is a climbing and trailing vine. The plant can climb as high as ninety feet.

Snake Plant

Sun Exposure: Prefers filtered light.
Water Needs: Water lightly, only when soil is dry.
Fun Fact: One of the easiest plants to care for. It is hardy and does not like to be watered often.

Spider Plant

Sun Exposure: Bright to filtered light.
Water Need: Prefers evenly moist soil.
Fun Facts: Can be grown indoors or outdoors. They also regularly produce offshoots once they reach maturity.

Croton

Sun Exposure: Full sun to bright filtered light.
Water Needs: Water when topsoil is dry.
Fun Fact: The leaf colors range from variegated red, orange, yellow, and green. You can also place it outside during the summer.

Aloe

Sun Exposure: Bright, indirect sunlight.
Water Needs: Water deeply, but sparingly.
Fun Fact: It produces two substances, gel, and latex, which are both used medically.

Pothos

Sun Exposure: Prefers bright, indirect light to low light.
Water Needs: Water every 1-2 weeks, allow the soil to dry between waterings. Water more frequently in brighter light, and less frequently in lower light.
Fun Fact: Pothos is a climbing species.
