- Ninebark is a tough, upright rounded shrub whose foliage emerges in shades of chartreuse green, copper or dark chocolate-purple
- Ninebark produces 1-2″ wide, white to pink flower clusters in spring along with exfoliating brown bark in winter
- Plant in well-drained to moist, amended soil
- Water well after planting
- Prune after blooming
- Remove older stems from the base to keep plant attractive
- Remove dead branches as any time
- Feed at least twice during the growing season with a slow release fertilizer in early spring and again mid-summer
- Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature
