STRAW FLOWER

BASIC INFO

SUN: Full sun

BLOOM TIME: Summer

HEIGHT: 6″ – 12″

WIDTH: 6″ – 12″

 CARE INFO:

Unique yellow, orange, pink or white daisy-like blooms are produced over fuzzy green foliage and a compact, well-branched habit. Excellent heat and drought tolerant plant, known for their unusual straw-like petals that crackle when they are touched. Flowers will close in shade or on dark, cloudy days. Use in sunny spots in the front border or in mixed containers or hanging baskets. They make excellent dried flowers for arrangements and wreaths.

Grow in sunny areas, well-drained, amended soil or containers. Repeat blooming, but trim as needed to maintain better blooming and a tidy habit. Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture and protect against extremes of soil temperature. Flowers will close at night and when it’s cloudy.
