An easy growing, perennial herb with a mild onion taste that can be used fresh or dried in many dishes along with fish, poultry, veal, eggs, potatoes, salads, soups and many more. Their violet-purple flowers are very decorative and edible flavoring herbal vinegar’s and oils. Chives have the added benefit of repelling aphids.

CARE NOTES:
Grow in sunny, well-drained, nutrient-rich soil or containers.
Water well after planting – maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season.
Feed with a slow-release fertilizer during the growing season.
Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
Harvest 1/3 of the new, tender foliage in the morning. Dry or freeze extra for future use.
