Basil possesses tender, fragrant foliage that is perfect for pesto, Italian and Asian dishes, soups and salads. It’s tolerant of multiple cuttings, so don’t be shy when it comes time to harvest! It will simply grow back for an extended late season yield. Be sure to remove the flowers that appear for the best flavor!

CARE NOTES:
Grow in sunny, well-drained, nutrient-rich soil or containers.
Water well after planting – maintain 1” of water once a week throughout the growing season.
Feed with a slow-release fertilizer during the growing season.
Mulch 2″ to suppress weeds, retain moisture, and protect against extremes of soil temperature.
Harvest 1/3 of the new, tender foliage in the morning. Dry or freeze extra for future use. Remove flowers for better leaf production and to keep the leaves from tasting bitter.
