For best pricing and to be set for the entire growing season, Farmer John’s recommends purchasing the full program each spring. Individual bags representing each step are also available for purchase throughout the season. Available in 5,000sqft and 15,000sqft sizes. Step 1* is applied in early spring, when temperatures are still cool, to prevent crabgrass before it germinates and to green up a winter-weary lawn. Apply Step 2 in late spring to kill perennial broadleaf weeds like dandelions while also nourishing the lawn. Step 3 occurs mid-summer to strengthens the lawn against heat and drought. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, apply Step 4 in early fall to add a layer of winter protection and to replenish nutrients for the best start next spring. *If seeding this spring, choose the alternative first step, Step 1 for Seeding. This version is specially formulated to support newly germinating grass seed while still working to prevent undesirable crabgrass.
