Full or Part Time Cashier/Team Member

General Description / Purpose

The cashier’s role is to ensure that each and every customer is served in a friendly, professional, and timely manner. This includes greeting customers processing orders through the POS system. Our cashiers are the “face of Farmer John’s” as they might be the first and sometimes only face the customer may see. This person will process customer transactions, resolve customer issues and maintain their assigned areas.

Responsibilities

· Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.

· Record customer items into the POS system, ensuring each and every item is accurately entered.

· Identify customer issues/complaints and take necessary steps to resolve them including getting assistance from other departments.

· Keep the “register station” stocked with all necessary items.

· Clean and organize the “register stations” when necessary.

· Sweep aisles B & C each night and clean restrooms at the end of your shift.

· Notify the Supervisor of all customer POS System issues.

· Perform other related duties as requested.

· Adhere to the specifications outlined in your Employment Packet.

· Communicate respectfully at all times.

· Participate actively in all staff meetings.

· Learn and adapt to new tasks or situations quickly and cooperatively.

· Handle cash, credit or check transactions with customers

· Scan items and collect payments

· Ensure pricing is correct

· Issue change, receipts, refunds, or tickets

· Redeem stamps and coupons

· Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change

· Make sales referrals, cross-sell products and introduce new products.

· Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information

· Bag, box and wrap items carefully.

· Greet customers when entering or leaving establishment

· Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas

· Keep reports of transactions

· Process returns and check to see if items are damaged

· Answer customer’s questions and involve a manager if answer doesn’t solve the issue.

· Deal with our customers in a pleasant manner to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Pay: $14.00

Patio/Grill sales team 

Purpose

Interact with each customer to provide information in response to inquiries in a friendly, professional and timely manner.  Answer customer’s questions regarding Patio and/or Grill on the sales floor.  Including but not limited to, inventory levels, warranty information, other inquiries from customers.  Manage customer purchases and if needed, schedule delivery.  Also responsible for incoming phone calls regarding products on the sales floor and/or website.  

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent
1+ years of experience in a Sales service related role

Full or Part Time Greenhouse Team Member

Greenhouse team members will be responsible for helping completing various tasks in the greenhouse.

    Full or Part-Time Customer Service Positions

    Description:

    The role of the Front Counter position is to ensure that each and every customer is served in a friendly, professional and timely manner. You will also be asked to manage customer queries and complaints, process purchases, schedule deliveries and answer phones. You will need to remain calm when customers are frustrated and some experience working with computers would be helpful.

    Responsibilities:

    • Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
    • Greet all customers with a friendly and welcoming manner.
    • Identify customer issues/complaints and take necessary steps to resolve them including getting assistance from other departments.
    • Communicate respectfully at all times.
    • Some knowledge of plants would be helpful.
    • Keep the “register station” stocked with all necessary items, clean and organize when necessary.
    • Overseeing of other Customer Service staff.
    • Learn and adapt to new tasks or situations quickly and cooperatively.
    • Required to open and/or close all register stations, count money and ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change for the next day.
    • Check customers out for their purchases, handle exchanges and returns.
    • Enter and schedule deliveries and pick-up using the computer and communicating with the warehouse.
    • Teamwork is something we stress in the work environment. Everyone is expected to follow and perform the same rules/policies/daily duties and work together to make each day run as smoothly as possible.

    Front Counter /Customer Service Requirements:

    • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
    • 1 + years of experience in customer service related role
    • Basic computer skills and excellent phone disposition
    • Ability to stay calm when customers are stressed or upset.

      Full-Time, Part-Time, Temporary Visual Merchandiser/Sales Associate

      Job responsibilities:

      • Develop creative merchandising displays that balance customers’ expectations and company’s objectives
      • Maximize customer interest and sales levels by displaying products appropriately
      • Maintaining store shelves and inventory
      • Work to create inspirational displays with both real and artificial flowers
      • Responsible for walking the store every day and keeping all store displays full and clean at all times
      • Always keep a clean, and organized work space.

      Job requirements:

      • Have proven working experience in merchandising
      • Up-to-date with the latest merchandising trends and best practices
      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

      Full-Time, Part-Time, Garden Supplies Team Member

      Purpose

      We are looking for associates with excellent communication skills to assist customers, stock shelves and rotate products in the dry goods (garden supply/chemical) area of our greenhouse. This fast-paced job often requires moderate lifting (up to 50lbs.).
